The City of Lake Butler, Florida is looking to fill the two (2) open positions of Maintenance I.  This is an hourly position with a starting rate of $14.00 per hour.

General duties:  Responsible for mowing, debris removal, providing staff support, and preventative maintenance schedules for equipment. Performs other duties as requested under the supervision of the Director of Public Works.

Knowledge, skills, and abilities:  General knowledge of tools and equipment used in building and grounds maintenance.  Ability to drive and operate equipment. Ability to hold a DC Certification is mandatory.  Occupational hazards and standard safety precautions to comply with local, state, and federal regulations and procedures.

Educational requirements:  High School diploma is required as a minimum.  Drug test, physical exam, criminal history background, ability to be DC certified must be passed.  Florida drivers license is required.

Physical demands:  Stand, walk, climb, stoop, kneel, crawl, reach, and bend.  Lift 50 pounds.  Hours of work will be 40 plus hours typically Monday through Friday.
