Wastewater Treatment Facility – Grant #WG088

The city was awarded a $29,600,000.00 Grant through the Florida Department of Environmental Protection to replace & re-purpose existing Wastewater Treatment Facility with a new advanced Treatment WWTF.

  • At the Regular City Commission Meeting on September 16, 2025, the City Commission approved the consent to assignment and assumption of obligation with the transfer of the existing contract between the City of Lake Butler & Mittauer & Associates Inc. to CPH Consulting, LLC following the acquisition that took place earlier this year (2025). 
  • At the Regular City Commission Meeting on September 16, 2025, the City Commission approved Amendment No. 1 to this grant agreement, adding provisions as required by DEP and compliance requirements/
  • At the April 15, 2025 regular meeting, the City Commission approved the agreement between the City & Commercial Industrial Corp. for the Sprayfield improvement project. 
  • At the April 15, 2025 regular meeting, the City Commission approved Change Order. No 1 with DEP. 
  • At the Regular City Commission Meeting on February 18, 2025, the bid was awarded to Commercial Industrial Corp. for the bid of $3,346,770.

  • Bid Advertisement was published in Union County Times on January 2, 2025. 
  • In Phase 3-5 of Project
  • Amendment number 1 to Agreement WG088 updating the end date to December 31, 2026
  • Engineer Service Agreement executed December 2022 with Mittauer & Associates and the City of Lake Butler.
  • Grant Agreement Executed October 2022 with State of Florida, Florida Department of Environmental Protection
  • Preliminary Engineering Review completed June 3, 2021
  • Application submitted January 2021
