Request for Qualifications General Contractor Services

PUBLIC NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City of Lake Butler, Florida, is hereby inviting Bid Proposals (BPs) and Statements of Qualifications (SOQs) until 2:00 pm on August 11, 2025.
Synopsis: The City, in conformance with the Florida Department of State; Division of Historical Resources; Special Category Grant #24.h.sc.100.002, and the policies and procedures of the City of Lake Butler are soliciting BPs/SOQs from licensed, insured, and bonded General Contractors in the State of Florida, for the planned renovations of the Historic Townsend Building (HTB). Said services for the HTB are considered for the existing second-floor museum of local historic exhibits and the first floor for the continued use of public meetings by non-profit organizations. Budget priority shall favor re-roofing activities, new windows and new flooring, in that order.
Submittal Requirements: Ten (10) copies of the BPs/SOQs shall be submitted in one sealed package, clearly marked on the outside “Sealed SOQ for General Contractor Services for the Historic Townsend Building, (RFQ#1),” and addressed to:

Submittals will be publicly opened at the Lake Butler City Hall located at 200 Southwest 1st Street, Lake Butler, FL, 32054, scheduled at 2:00 pm on MONDAY, AUGUST 11, 2025, and presented to the Lake Butler City Commission on Tuesday, August 19, 2025, at the same location beginning at 6:00 pm or thereafter. Respondents are invited to be present at both.
Project documents include the Project Manuel, the Project Drawings, and are available at no charge, solicited along with any questions to the City’s Project Consultants, Andy Easton & Associates. The project contact person is Douglas K. Sanders @ [email protected].
The City reserves the right to reject any or all submittals, to waive any irregularity, and to take all submittals under advisement for a period of sixty (60) days.
