The City of Lake Butler, Florida is looking to fill the position of Streets and Roads I (Mowing Squad). This is a full-time position with a starting hourly rate at $15.00 per hour (hourly rate subject to increase based on experience) with a $8,000 hospitalization stipend in addition to the annual salary.
General Duties: Responsible for mowing, debris removal, general maintenance, providing staff support, and preventative maintenance schedules for equipment. Performs other duties as requested under the supervision of the Director of Public Works.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: General knowledge of tools and equipment used in building and grounds maintenance. Ability to drive and operate equipment. Excellent customer service skills and work with the public in a courteous manner. Ability to hold a NON-DOC Certification is mandatory. Occupational hazards and standard safety precautions to comply with local, state, and federal regulations and procedures.
Educational Requirements: High School diploma is required as a minimum. Drug test, criminal history background, ability to be NON-DOC certified must be passed. Florida driver’s license is required.
Physical demands: Stand, walk, climb, stoop, kneel, crawl, reach, and bend. Lift 50 pounds. The hours of work will be 40 plus hours, typically Monday through Friday.
